October 16th 2010
The third occasion of the Carne Trophy took place in St. Helen's Bay on Saturday October 16th.  Once again, the weather was kind and everybody who took part had a great time.
This year's competition was in a scramble format which seemed to have gone down well.  The final result was very close with only four shots separating the three teams.  This year’s winning team was Tommy O'Donnell, Pat Shortall and Russell Burke.
Sadly 2010 saw the passing of our good friend (and excellent golfer) Gay Reilly who took part in the first two Carne Trophy events.  It was agreed to establish a "golfer of the day" award to honour Gay's memory.  Tommy O'Donnell was the inaugural winner of this award.
A great meal in the clubhouse was followed by a debriefing session in the Kilrane Inn.
